| Challenge events are one of the fastest growing forms of off-road motorsport with more and more people keen to pit themselves and their machines against tough natural obstacles. A challenge event is all about a team of driver and co-driver getting their vehicle to a certain point and collecting proof of the visit. Sometimes this may mean careful and controlled driving or sometimes using a winch to pull the vehicle beyond the limits of what can be driven. The club organises two highly respected series of Challenge events - the Howlin' Wolf Challenge and the Challenger 4x4 series. The Motorsports Association has announced that all drivers in Challenge events will require a Competition License of Clubman Status of above from 2010.

The Howlin’ Wolf will be a series of four one day challenge events through 2010 at the very best off road sites in the UK. The overall winners of the series will be awarded the Howlin' Wolf Trophy.
The aim of the event is to drive your vehicle to various points within the competition site, the location of which will be indicated on the day.

This series is aimed at the newcomer to challenge events and teams who do not wish to compete at the national level. A handicap system will operate allowing teams with all levels of experience to compete against one another.

The XTC or eXtreme Time Challenge event is a new concept which allows Challenge drivers to experience the thrill of speed events.
Set out in the Point to Point format, the event requires teams to make a certain number of runs around a course comprising up to 20 gates
